In the 1851 census Edward & Maria were in Well village, Lincs., where Edward was a game keeper.

George BUTLER (GEORGE2, GEORGE1) was born Abt. 1823 in Redford (Retford? Ruttford?). Notts., England, and died May 19, 1895 in Sleaford, where he is buried. He married Mary DAY Bef. 1851. Mary died in 1896 at the age of 77 and she too is buried in Sleaford.
In 1851 (on daughters birth registration) George is a publican in Sleaford; he is also a publican in 1876.
In the 1881 census they are on Mareham Lane in Old Sleaford
In the 1891 census they are on Marehead Lane in Old Sleaford (same street, different transcriptions?)

i. George, b. Abt. 1854, Sleaford, Lincs; m. Alice BUTLER who was born in Well Lincs about 1850, d/o Edward BUTLER & Maria RICHARDSON. Alice died in 1929 at the age of 78 yrs, and she is buried in Sleaford
In both the 1881 & 1891 censuses this family is at 2 Watergate in New Sleaford & George is a butcher.
ii. Mary Elizabeth (or Polly), b. December 12, 1851 in Sleaford (birth reg: Sleaford 7a390 March 1852Q) and she married Alexander FRANCIS, 1874, Sleaford, Lincs. Alexander was chritened in New Sleaford on 28 Feb 1849 , s/o Edward & Mary
In the 1881 census thery were at 23 Carre St. in New Sleaford & Alex is a commerical traveller
In the 1891 census they are in Chatteris Cambrigeshire, and Alexs occupation looks to be seedman (?)
iii. Alice, b. Abt. 1856; m. George WELLSMAN, December 26, 1876, New Sleaford. Witnesses at the marriage were B. STEPHENSON & F. BUTLER. George was a resident of Reading Berks at the time of his marriage.
In 1881 they were 14 Belle Vue Pl in Leeds, England and George was an iron monger's assistant.
In 1891 he was a butcher and they were living at 90 Carholme Rd.,St. Mary le Wigford, Lincolnshire. With the family in 1891 is Kate E. STEPHENSON, age 5, born Lincoln, Lincoln
Annie BUTLER (GEORGE2, GEORGE1) was born Abt. 1835 in Sleaford, Lincs (or Brant Broughton, Lincs.), and died July 17, 1884. She married Henry WRIGHT.
In 1876 Henry gives his occupation as commercial traveller.
In the 1881 census the family is in Nottingham at 5 Allan Terrance, St. Marys parish although both of their children were born in Sleaford (prior to 1881). Henrys occupation is still commercial traveller.

- 1891 census: Rebecca was in New Sleaford visiting the Butler family, while Richard was a butcher in Croydon, Surrey - 41 Church St.

i. Edward Butler BLINKS, b. Abt. 1880, Ticehurst, Sussex. In 1901 he was a butcher in Fiehunt Sussex. He married in 1902 (reg Sept 1902 Farnham 2a 225) possibly to Florence Hilda Lowman or Minnie Maud Nicholls but this has not been checked yet.
ii. Eleanor BLINKS, b. Abt. 1881, Croydon Surrey. She was 2 months old in the 1881 census. In 1891 census, called Nellie, in New Sleaford with her mother, visiting the Butlers. In 1901 she was a book keeper, and was living with Rebecca (mother) & Edward
