He married twice. He married Alice E. Firestone 1 Sep 1881.⁽⁵⁵⁷⁾ Alice was born 24 Dec 1859.⁽⁵⁵⁸⁾ Alice was the daughter of George Firestone. Alice died 15 Apr 1887 at age 27. He married Alice Hagler Goodson 13 Nov 1888.⁽⁵⁵⁹⁾ Alice was born 14 Jan 1861.⁽⁵⁶⁰⁾

Elmer Ellsworth Chaffin and Alice E. Firestone had the following children:

83 i. Scott⁶ Chaffin was born in Orrville, Wayne Co., OH 15 Jun 1882.⁽⁵⁶¹⁾ He married Mary Robertson 17 Jul 1912 probably in St. Paul, MN.⁽⁵⁶²⁾ Mary was born about 1884.⁽⁵⁶³⁾ Mary was the daughter of Charles Robertson and Anna M. Martensen.

84 ii. Clarence Ward Chaffin was born in Orrville, Wayne Co., OH 1 Jan 1884.⁽⁵⁶⁴⁾
