He married twice. He married Utie M. Chaffin 6 Jul 1892.⁽⁹¹⁷⁾ Utie was born 6 Jul 1873 in Quincy, IL.⁽⁹¹⁸⁾ Utie was the daughter of Simon Chaffin III and Gertrude Story. Utie died 26 Feb 1908 at age 34.⁽⁹¹⁹⁾

Sampson Edwards and Utie M. Chaffin had the following children:

2 i. Verne² Edwards was born 4 Jan 1895.⁽⁹²⁰⁾

3 ii. Norval Edwards was born 21 Apr 1899.⁽⁹²¹⁾

4 iii. Elmo Edwards was born 5 May 1903.⁽⁹²²⁾
