He married Sophronia Harriett Chaffin Abt 1867 in Napoleon, Henry Co., OH.⁽¹²²⁷⁾ Sophronia was born 18 Apr 1843 Van Buren, Hancock Co., OH.⁽¹²²⁸⁾ Sophronia⁽¹²²⁹⁾ was the daughter of Gladwin Chaffin, M.D. and Diadamia Elgin Pancoast. Sophronia died 1924 in Napoleon, Henry Co., OH, at age 81.⁽¹²³⁰⁾ Her body was interred 1924 in Napoleon, Henry Co., OH.⁽¹²³¹⁾

Russell Bigalo Heller and Sophronia Harriett Chaffin had the following children:

4 ii. Raymond Legrand Heller⁽¹²³²⁾ was born 1871.⁽¹²³³⁾ Raymond died 14 Dec 1897 in Napoleon, Henry Co., OH, at age 26.⁽¹²³⁴⁾ His body was interred 1897 in Napoleon, Henry Co., OH.⁽¹²³⁵⁾ Raymond was educated as a physician at Ann Arbor, showing great promise. But, he died at the age of 26.⁽¹²³⁶⁾
