Purportedly, Colonel John Crawford came from Ayrshire, Scotland and settled in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. At this point, that is all I know of my immigrant ancestor.
His son, Robert, was my great great grandfather. He was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He owned and operated an iron furnace and foundry at Brady's Bend, Pennsylvania, the birthplace of his wife, Catherine (Linnebery) Crawford.

Robert and Catherine Crawford share a tombstone in the Petroleum Centre Cemetery. The cemetery is all that is left of Petroleum Centre, the oil boomtown they called home. Their names are listed on opposite sides of the same stone. Robert was first buried in the Cherrytree Cemetery and was moved to the Petroleum Centre Cemetery when Catherine died.
