Mrs. Anna B. Baney, age 88, of 86 Elm St., Union
City, passed away suddenly Tuesday, Feb. 21, 1984, at the Union City Memorial
Hospital. Mrs. Baney was born May 18, 1895, the daughter of Frank and Francis
Tobian Emerson in Mill Village, Penna. She married Charles Anthony Baney in
Union City, Penna. February 14, 1914, and he preceded her in death in June of
1969.
She was a member of the Wesleyan Holiness Church of Union City. She had been
employed at York and Fosters, Union City and retired in 1957 after 15 years
service.
She is survived by seven daughters: Mrs. Beatrice Hayes, Mrs. Marjorie Williams,
Mrs. Dorothy Loomis and Mrs. Charlotte Winegard, all of Union City; Mrs.
Gertrude Whitney of Erie, Mrs. Gladys Bacon of Spartansburg, and Norma Skalos of
Brunswick, Ohio: two sons; Charles Baney, Jr. of Waterford and Donald Baney of
Fairport, New York; also 63 grandchildren and 80 great-grandchildren and 80
great-great-grandchildren.
Friends Called at the Glen Funeral Home, Union City, Wednesday from 7-9 PM and
Thursday from 2-4 PM and attended funeral services Friday at 2 PM with Rev.
Lloyd Keeley officiating. Interment was in Erie County Memorial Gardens.

Charles A. Baney, 81 years of age, of 12 Sherman
St., Union City, passed away at the Union City Memorial Hospital, Monday, June
16.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Emerson Baney; seven daughters, Beatrice Hayes,
Dorothy Buell, Marjorie Williams, and Charlotte Winegard of Union city, Gertrude
Whitney, Erie, Gladys Bacon, Spartansburg, Norma Skaalos, Brunswick, Ohio; two
sons, Charles Baney, Jr., Waterford and Donald Baney, Rochester, NY; one sister,
Lucille Baney, N. Clymer, NY; 64 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held from the Glen Funeral Home, Union City, Thursday,
June 19, 10:00 AM.
Interment will be in Erie County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Elizabeth Klutz Baney, aged 72 years, widow
of the late John Baney died yesterday in her home in Petroleum Center.
The deceased was born in Armstrong County. She is survived by the following
children: Mrs. Henry Brooks and Milton Baney of Spartansburg; Mrs. Dan Brown,
Corry; Mrs. Lucille Hess, Olean; Charles Baney, Erie; Mrs. Ed Rodgers, Oil City;
Mrs. Newton Crawford, Petroleum Center; John Baney, Pioneer, an Harry Earnest
and Victor at home.
The body will be brought to the home of Mrs. Rodgers, 49 Holiday St., in this
city, where funeral services will be conducted at an hour to be announced later.

Ernest L. Baney, 47, died suddenly at 1:40 AM
yesterday at the home of his sister, Mrs. Mary Crawford, at Petroleum Center. He
had been in ill health for two years. He was born at Shamburg, Feb. 20, 1892,
son of John and Elizabeth Klutz Baney, and spent most of his life in the
Petroleum Center area. He was employed on oil leases and was four years with the
signal department of the P.R.R. Besides the sister at whose home he died, he
leaves the following brothers and sisters: Victor Baney of Petroleum Center;
Milton Baney of Waterford; Harry Baney of Cherrytree; Mrs. Lucy Arkielpane of
Jamestown, NY, and Mrs. Hazel Rodgers of Oil City.

John Baney Sr., aged 76, died at his home in
Petroleum Center on Tuesday from complications of diseases terminating an
illness of a long period. He was married when he was 21 years of age to Miss
Elizabeth Klutz of Kaneville this county. She survives him together with 13
children, 42 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Surviving children are:
Mrs. Alice Brooks, Spartansburg; Mrs. Mary Crawford, Petroleum Center; Mrs.
Jennie Crawford, Titusville; John Baney Jr., VIctor Baney, Ernest Baney, and
Harry Baney at home; Charles Baney, Jackson Station, Erie County; Mrs. Daniel
Brown, Corry, PA; Mrs. P.L. Hess and Mrs. Edward Rodgers both of Oil City.
Funeral services in his memory will be conducted in the Methodist Church at
Petroleum Center tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 by Rev. Reed of the Diamond M.E.
Church. Interment will be made in the Petroleum Center Cemetery.

Mrs. Lovina Baney, wife of John Baney, died at the family home, two miles west
of Cherrytree, early Saturday morning. She had been ill of dropsy for a number
of weeks and death was not unexpected.
Mrs. Baney was born in Oakland township, Venango county, 76 years ago. When 20
years of age she was married to John Baney and they had spent the greater
portion of their life in this immediate vicinity. Besides her husband she was
survived by the following children:

Funeral services over the remains were held Sunday afternoon. The cortege left
the house at 1 o'clock and services in her memory took place at Oakland church,
conducted by Rev. Carmany, of Dempseytown. Interment was made in the church
cemetery.

Victor Andrew Baney of Petroleum Center died at
Warren State Hospital at 3:30 PM yesterday, following an illness of three years.
He was born at Kaneville, a son of John and Elizabeth Klutz Baney.
He is survived by three brothers and one sister, Milton Baney of Union City,
Harry Baney of Titusville, RD#3 (third brother?) and Mrs. Lucy Carlson of
Jamestown, NY.
Friends may call at the Tracy Home of Funerals from 7 to 9 PM today and 2 to 5
and 7 to 9 PM Tuesday. The funeral service will be held there at 1:30 PM
Wednesday with Rev. George Cooper, pastor of the Bible Presbyterian Church (on
Cherrytree Road) officiating. Interment will be in Jamison Corners Cemetery.

MRS. DANE BLY PASSED AWAY AT CITY HOSPITAL
Young Woman is Survived by Husband and Three Small Children
Mrs. Winnie Ghering Bly, wife of Dane Bly who resides near
Troy Center, died at the City hospital at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon.
While Mrs. Bly had not been in robust health for some time, she had only been
seriously ill since Christmas. Mrs. Bly was nearly 27 years of age and had
spent all her life in the vicinity of where she resided. She was a member
of the Troy Center Methodist Episcopal church and held in high esteem by all who
knew her.
Besides the husband and three children, Clarence, Alma and Esther, she is
survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Ghering of Troy Center and the
following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Newton Bush, Mrs. Addie Dietz, Mrs.
Clarence Ehrhart, Mrs. Guy Reynolds, Robert, Allie and Lee Ghering. The
body was taken to the Courtney undertaking rooms and prepared for burial.
Services in her memory will be conducted from the First Methodist Episcopal
church Thursday at 2 p.m., and the interment will be made in Greenwood cemetery.

Services in memory of Mrs. Dane Bly were conducted from the First Methodist
Episcopal church yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. H.H. Barr, pastor,
officiating. There was a large attendance of relatives and friends and
numerous beautiful floral tributes laid upon the casket. Music for the
service was rendered by a quartet consisting of Mrs. W.B. Gilson, Miss Leota
Dower, D.R. Nelson and Rev. H.H. Barr, they singing "The City Four
Square," "My Jesus As Thou Wilt" and "Heaven is My
Home." The interment was made in Greenwood cemetery, the pall bearers
being A.H. Ghering, Robert Ghering, Lee Ghering, N.A. Bush, Clarence Ehrhart and
Don Bly.

Third Death in Family in Last Six Weeks - Well Known Resident ill Only About Two
Weeks
Mrs. Bertha Baney Brown, wife of Daniel Brown, passed away this morning at 5:30
O'clock at her home, 28 Grove Street, after a two week illness. Mrs. Brown who
was 40 years of age, was born in Kaneville, Pa., coming to this city six years
ago, where she since resided. Besides her husband, Mrs. Brown is survived by one
son Alfred Brown, at home and daughter, Mrs. Fred Clard, also of Corry, by four
sisters, Mrs. Newton Crawford, Petroleum Centre, Mrs. Hazel Rodgers, Oil City,
Mrs. Alice Brooks, Spartansburg and Mrs. Lucy Haas, of Olean, NY; by six
brothers, Ernest Baney, Harry Baney, and Victor Baney, Petroleum Centre, John
Baney, Pioneer, Charles Baney, Jackson Station and Milton Baney, Red Oak.
The death of Mrs. Brown in the third in that immediate family within the past
six weeks.
Funeral services are to be held from the residence, Sunday afternoon at 2:30
O'clock and burial will take place in the Pine Grove Cemetery.

Daniel O. Brown Dies Suddenly
Daniel O. Brown, who was well known in the Corry area, died suddenly last
evening at Titusville Hospital where he had been a patient for the last week.
A resident of Titusville for the last three years. Mr. Brown was born June 11,
1883 on the Church Run Road in Crawford County, and lived for many years in the
Corry area. At one time, he operated a garage on First Avenue.
He was the son of the late Alexander and Mary Brown. His wife, Bertha (Baney),
preceded him in death in 1926 as did a brother Marvin in 1930.
He is survived by one son, Alfred V. Brown of Titusville and one daughter Mrs.
Fred W. Clark, RD 2, Corry: nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and
one brother, Arthur of Mount Vernon, Ohio.
Friends may call at the Davison Funeral Home and attend services Saturday at 2
PM. Rev. George A. Myers will officiate. Interment will follow in the family lot
in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Mrs.
Burton of Peninsula Dies
Mrs.
Oren Burton, 73, a resident of the Peninsula for many years died Friday evening
at the home of her son, Kenneth 431 second street, following a long illness.
Cora E. Ghering was born April 24, 1874 on the peninsula the daughter of Michael
and Beattie Ghering, pioneer residents of the region. She was united in marriage to Oren Burton April 14, 1900, and
has resided on the Peninsula since that time. Surviving besides her husband are
two sons, Kenneth and Michael of this city, three grandsons and two
granddaughters, two sisters, Mrs. Phillips S. Rose of Ardmore Pa. and Mrs. Hall
Flack of the peninsula and one brother Tompkins Ghering of R. 2.
The
body was taken to the Hibbard chapel to remain until time of services, which
will be held at the 2:30 with Rev J. C. Mathews officiating.
Burial will be made in the family lot in Ogdensberg cemetery.

Mrs. Bertha G. Bush Dies in Hospital
Mrs. Bertha Grace Bush, aged 56, wife of Newton A. Bush of
Titusville, Route 3, died in the Titusville hospital last night at 11 o'clock
after an illness of eight days. Before moving to McKinney Road, where they
operate a store and garage the Bushes were residents of Titusville. Mrs.
Bush was born May 29, 1887, at Troy Center, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Martin Ghering. On July 11, 1906, she was married to Newton A. Bush at Mayville,
N.Y, She was a member of the Troy Center Methodist church. In
addition to her husband, she leaves the following children: Mrs. Irene
Hughes, Titusville; Mrs. Margaret Horn, Oil City, Route 1; Horatio Bush,
Titusville. One son died in infancy. She also leaves one brother, A.H.
Ghering, Tryonville, Route 1; one sister, Mrs. Guy Reynolds, Centerville, and
two grandchildren. The body will be left at the Tracy funeral home pending
funeral arrangements.
Funeral Notice:
Services for Mrs. Bertha Bush were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Tracey
funeral home. Rev. John L. Murray of the Chapmanville Methodist church,
who officiated, read the hymn "Crossing the Bar." Interment was
in the Troy Center cemetery, with the following as pall-bearers: Henry
Woodcock, Walter Miles, Fred Johnson, Ellsworth Stewart, Albert Tarr, James
Ghering, F.W. Geary and Vance Marsh.
