Note: Thomas was charged with killing his wife on May 2, 1898 in Yancy Co, NC. He was arrested about 10 miles outside Wichita,KS in July 1898 and brought back to Yancy for trial. He must have been acquitted because he remained a free man and remarried in 1900.
