2001-2002 Meeting Schedule
- Tuesday Sept. 11, 2001
- "Sourcing and Citations in Your Genealogical Software Programs." — MEETING CANCELLED!
- Sunday, October 14, 2001, 12 noon to 5:00 p.m.
- This year, the annual Family History Fair will be held on Sunday, October 14, at CUNY Graduate Center, 365 Fifth Avenue at 34th Street — the old B. Altman Department Store and the NYPL Science and Business Library — from 12 noon to 5 p.m. The Family History Fair is sponsored by the Archivists' Round Table of Metropolitan New York.
This annual event is free and open to the public. Many genealogical and historical societies as well as archives, vendors and other groups of interest to genealogists are there to meet and talk to the public. Additionally, there will be many seminars held throughout the day. The members of the MetroNY Genealogy & Computers SIG will also provide several lectures on computer issues of interest to the attendees.
Volunteers from the SIG are needed for 1-2 hour durations during the Fair to staff the MetroNY Genealogy & Computers table.
- November 13, 2001
- This will be a joint meeting with NYPC's Digital Photography SIG. Tony Holley will discuss digital cameras for the first of a two-part series.
- December 11, 2001
- David Kleiman will discuss software for your digital photography and how to prepare digital family photo albums. This is the second of a two-part series begun last month and is a joint meeting with NYPC's Digital Photography SIG.
- January 8, 2002
- David Kleiman will discuss sourcing of the information in your genealogical database. (This was the meeting topic originally scheduled for the September 2001 meeting.)

- Brief report on GenTech 2002 followed by preparating for the release of the 1930 Federal Census.
