Oswayo Valley Mail, Thursday June 2, 1949 Reservations Must be Made Early for Alumni Banquet According to committee reports this week, the annual Shinglehouse High School Alumni banquet will be held on Saturday evening, June 18, in the dining room of the Fire- men's Hall at six o'clock. Dancing will follow, from nine to one in the high school gym with music furnished by Jimmie Poyer's band. Prices will remain the same this year; banquet, $2.00 per plate; dance, $3.00 per couple, with the ever-popular combination ticket of $6.00 per couple. Reservations for the banquet may be made with Mrs. Edward Ebeling of Shinglehouse and must be in by Wednesday, June 15. --------------------------------- Friendship IOOF Puts on Degree Shinglehouse Lodge of Odd Fel- lows, No. 598, was again host to visiting members on Wednesday night. Visitors from Friendship, Olean, Allentown, Portville and Couders- port were present to witness the conferring of the initiatory degree by Friendship Lodge on a class of 11 candidates. Refreshments were served by a committee of Shinglehouse Lodge following the degree work. Next Tuesday night the local Odd Fellows will hold a banquet in their dining hall for members of Shinglehouse Rebekah Lodge. ---------------------------------- Girl Scouts Plan Party for Friday The Girls Scouts are planning a party for all Girl Scouts, their mothers and any interested per- sons at the cafeteria room on Fri- day evening, June 3, at seven thirty o'clock. Executives from Bradford will be at this meeting and refreshments will be served.
