Oswayo Valley Mail, Thursday June 2, 1949 Funeral Services Held on Sunday For Charles Maxson Charles Maxson, a life long res- ident of Shinglehouse, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 1949, after a long illness. "Charley," as his host of friends knew him, was born in Ceres town- ship on March 15, 1868, the son of Phineas and Harriet Wilbur Max- son. Surviving are two daughters Mrs. Hazen Warner and Mrs. Rog- ers Bump of Shinglehouse; two sisters, Mrs. Alva McDonald of Smethport and Mrs. Alice Bates of Townsend, Maryland; thre broth- ers, Fred Maxson of Nile, Merle Maxson of Bellrun and Ernest Maxson of Shinglehouse; two granddaughters, Miss Mary Bump and Mrs. Lina Mesler of Shingle- house and several nieces and ne- phews. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Rogers Bump. Rev. Floyd C. B. Aldrich, pastor of the First Baptist Church, of- ficiated. Interment was made in the family plot in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers were J. D. Jones, Arlie Church, William Mesler, Lloyd Tarr, Daryl Blauvelt and Howard Prince. Relatives and friends attended from Bolivar, Angelica, Smethport, Ceres, Nile and Shinglehouse.
