from The Argus News, Crawfordsville, IN, June 19, 1894 "A Rural Wedding There was a pretty country wedding this evening at the residence of Jacob H. Cacler (?) , seven miles east of Crawfordsville......Vannice and James H. Burkholder. The ceremony was performed at 8 o'clock by Rev. W. J. Howe in the presence of an half hundred well-wishing friends. After congratulations the company repaired to the dining room where was served an elegant country repast. Mr. and Mrs. Burkholder were the recipients of many pretty and useful rememberances from the friends. The contracting parties are very well and favorably known the bride being a very estimable young lady and her groom a capable and energetic young business man. He is engaged in the lumber trade and has recently made his headquarters at Bellmore, in Fountain county, but Crawfordsville has been selected as their place of residence at least for a while. It is with pleasure that the Argus News joins with the many friends in extending congratulations."
