HUSBAND NOTES: The middle initial in John's name comes from his gravestone at Riverside Cemetery in Westville, NY. ------------ John sold his land in Westville to John Hoyt on April 21, 1909. At that time he was a widow. -------------- John M. Sanders To John Hoyt This indenture, made this 21st day of April in the year one thousand nine hundred and nine, between John M. Sanders of the Town of Westville, County of Franklin, and State of New York , a widower, of the first part, and John Hoyt, of the Town of Bombay, County of Franklin, and State of New York, of the second part. Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part, in consideration of the sum of Five hundred fifty dollars ($550.00) lawful money of the United States, paid by the said party of the second part, does hereby grant and release unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever All that track or parcel of land, situate in the town of Westville, County of Franklin and State of New York, described as follows, and distinguished as part of subdivision second of lot eleven, in Township three (3) of Great Track No. 1 of Macomb's Purchase and bounded as follows; beginning in the west bounds of said subdivision at a point in said west bounds twenty five chains south one degree east from the northwest corner of said subdivision at the southwest corner of land in said subdivision deeded by Edward Ellice to Henry A. Paddock, and runs east parallel with the north bounds of said subdivision along the south bounds of said Paddock's land to land deeded by said Ellice to Maria Brunson twenty chains; then south one degree east along Mariah Brunson's land nineteen chains and sixteen links to the south bounds of said subdivision; then west along said south bounds to the southwest corner of said subdivision; thence north one degree west on said bounds about nineteen chains fifty five links to the place of beginning, containing thirty eight acres and 70/100 acres more or less. Being the same premises deeded to the party of the first part by Cornelia A. Powell and others which deed is recorded in Franklin County Clerk's Office in Liber 61 of Deeds at page 467, on March 17th, 1879, and no more. Said part of the first part hereby reserves the use of the house and buildings on said premises until June second 1909, and it is further hereby mutually agreed by and between the parties hereto that providing the party of the first part will pay to the party of the second part the sum of thirty eight dollars as rental of said premises which will give the party of the first part until the 2nd day of June 1910, to deliver possession of said premises, and in that event said party of the first part to have the crops grown thereon during said year. Together with the appurtenances, and all the estate and rights of the said party of the first part in and to said premises. To have and to hold the above granted premises unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said John M. Sanders does covenant with the said party of the second part as follows: That the party of the second part shall quietly enjoy the said premises. That the said John M. Sanders will forever warrant the title to said premises. In Witness Whereof, the said party of the first part has hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written. John M. The John Saunders listed on West St at the Rail Road Rightofway is very possibly my John M. Saunders because of the VT, VT, VT birthplaces. The age is 10 years off. _________________________________________ The Manchester Leader Friday February 15, 1918 John M. Sanders The funeral of John M. Sanders was held yesterday afternoon from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank E. Bagley of 375 Lake Ave. Rev M. R. Foshay officiated. The bearers were William Neury, Rollin B. Johnson, John N. Wiley and William Jones. Many flowers were received by relatives and friends. The body was placed in the receiving tomb at Valley cemetery, under the direction of Undertaker Elmer D. Goodwin. [ Rev Milford R. Foshay was pastor of First Baptist Church, Union Corner or Concord St.] ---------- Malone Farmers Feb 13, 1918 SANDERS - in Manchester, N.H., Feb 12, John M. Sanders formerly of Westville, aged 79. The funeral will be held in Manchester tomorrow. Henry Sanders is a son of the deceased. ------- The remains of John M. Sanders, whose death occurred in Manchester, NH Febr last, arrived in Malone Wednesday accompanied by his daughter, Mrs. F. E. Bagley, and were conveyed to Westville for interment. Mrs. Bagley will remain a few days calling on old friends before returning to her home in Manchester, N.H. ---- Sept 12, 1907 Malone Palladium John Sanders, of Malone, and William Lytle, of North Bangor, were the guests of Mr and Mrs Wallace King Sunday and Monday.
