Funeral Sunday for Floyd King of Malone, Co. Probation Officer

Funeral services for Floyd King, 67, Franklin County probation officer, who dropped dead at the Franklin County Court House in Malone Friday, were held Sunday afternoon at 3 at the First Congregational church. The body was placed in the vault at Morningside cemetery.

Mr. King died unexpectedly of a heart attack while attending an inquest at the office of District Attorney Ellsworth N. Lawrence shortly after 2 p.m. Friday.

A widely known county official, Mr. King had served as probation officer since Jan 1, 1918. He had also held the office of clerk of the Franklin county board of supervisors from March 22, 1913 to Feb. 1, 1934.

Mr. King was born in Westville, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William King. He moved to Malone as a young man and was graduated from Franklin Academy. For a time he taught in rural schools and afterwards engaged in farming for ten years.

In June 1903 he married Miss Agnes Spencer of Malone. She survives with a son, Harold S. King, New Jersey, and three grandchildren.

Mrs. King was very active in Grange affairs and was a member of Masonic lodge, having held all offices in the Masonic body. He was also a member of Karnak temple.
