Williams in Amherst, Mass. Born 2/3/1836 in Fletcher, Vt.,died 9/5/1911 in Essex Vt. He is buried in lot #23 in Mountainview Cemetary, Essex Center, Vt together with Henry C Ladd(1833-1911) and wife Louise Eddy (1852 - 1938) {parents of Henry A Ladd} Also buried there are Dr Henry Abner Ladd (1876-1954(, his 1st wife M Etta Munroe (1875 - 1904) and 2nd wife Edith A Kinsley (1872 - 1960) I visited the cemetary 3 or 4 years ago. Note 1 of her sisters Bertha Mae Kinsley (known legally as Bertie K. Pope)was married to Samuel Edgecomb Pope. They were my grand parents and are buried in Jeffersonville,Vt together with my parents Maurice Kinsley Pope and Lucy Russell Pope. Alonzo's civil war canteen was given by me to the Jeffersonville Historical Society Museum. I still have the dented button from his uniform and the supposed bullet which hit him! Dr. Henry A Ladd was Chief of The Vermont State Mental Hospital in Waterbury, Vt during at least the 1940's when I visited him and Edith both at the hospital and their home in Essex Center. Dr Ladd had 1 daughter with his 1st wife Etta whose name I vaguely remember wa s Mary. At any rate she married Dr. John Armstrong who was a doctor at Berea College, Berea, Ky. They had a daughter and a son. I also have more infor on Alonzo's other children and their spouses.
