Name: Francis Rogers 1 2 3 4 Sex: M Birth: 1832 in Ireland Death: 15 AUG 1885 in Westville, Franklin, New York Residence: 1850 Fort Covington, Franklin, New York 1 Residence: 1860 Westville, Franklin, New York 2 Residence: 1870 Westville, Franklin, New York 3 Residence: 1880 Westville, Franklin, New York, United States 4 Note: 12 granchildren identified as of 1/2008. Of the 11 known children, only William and Ella had families that I can locate. The other nine children are established with high confidence to have not had families with the exception of Catherine. She was still alive at the age of 14 at the time of the 1880 census. The probate paperwork for Francis Rogers who died in 1885 should tell me for sure if she was alive at that time. The probate paperwork of her mother indicated that she was not alive in 1898.
1850 Census Fort Covington, Franklin, New York: Francis Rogers, 18 years old, a laborer, born in Ireland.
1860 Census Westville, Franklin County: Francis Rodgers 27, Catherine 23. Born in Ireland. It looks like it says Catherine was born in Ireland. An Elen or Elon or Ellen Rogers is shown at age 53. This is actually Ellen Toomey, Catherine's mother. She was born in Ireland. Children: Elizabeth 4 and William 1 born in NY. Adults can not read. He is farmer.
1870 Census Westville, Franklin, New York: Francis Rogers 38, farmer born in Ireland. Catherine 34, born in NY. Ellen Toomey is in house, age 60, born in Ireland. She is Catherine's mother. Children all born in NY, Elizabeth, 13, William, 11, Francis, 9, Ellen, 7, Catherine, 5, James, 2, John 2/12, born in April. Census taken in August.
1880 Census Westville:, Franklin, New York Frank Rogers 49, Catherine 44. Children: Elizabeth 24, William 21, Ellen 16, Catherine 14, Frank 19, John 10, Michael 4, Rosa 4 and Rebecca 9/12, born in September. Everyone born in NY, except Frank who was born in Ireland.
Per Loretta Rogers, Francis died from a fall from a horse at the age of 54.
