HUSBAND NOTES: From the Malone Telegram July 30, 1931, the following--"H. S. Mott of Los Angles, Calif., who is visiting his grandmother, Mrs. Stearns Mott at her home in North Bangor, was a caller in Malone today." ------------------ The following is from the Malone Telegram of Feb. 11,1936: Headline-"MAN INJURED AS AUTO & TRAIN COLLIDE--LYLE SHONYO SUFFERS CUTS AND BRUISES IN ACCIDENT AT NORTH BANGOR--COMPANION, HAROLD MOTT, ESCAPES INJURY." Accompanying Article--"Lyle Shonyo, 39, North Bangor postmaster, suffered severe cuts and bruises when the car he was driving collided with a freight train at the Rutland Railroad crossing at North Bangor at about one o'clock this morning. His companion Harold Mott of North Bangor escaped injury. Mr. Shonyo was proceeding north toward his home and apparently did not see the train on the tracks in time to stop. The men are reported to have been thrown out of the machine which was carried about 100 yards by the moving train. The machine was badly damaged. Mr. Shonyo was brought to the Alice Hyde Hospital where he is recovering from his injuries. He suffered no broken bones in the accident. The crash was investigated by state police of Troop B." So it appears your Dad was back in Bangor in 1936.
