She is survived by one brother William Sands, or Rochester, and son Randall Rice, of Savona. The funeral services were at 2 o'clock Wenesday afternoon from the home. Burial in Lake View Cemetery.

Marriage record of Janes Sands to Emil Miller show her birth as Bellona, NY - but the birth information in her father's Civil War pension file state she was born in Benton, NY. I believe Benton to be correct.

The Guertha Pratt home was for elderly gentlewomen and was used as such throughout the early years and through 1970's as such. It was used as such for a very long time; and very well regarded. The building was built as a private home in 1850's on Clinton Street, south side, corner of Hamilton Street in Penn Yan, Yates County, New York. Though extremely large, the present owner may have tenants living in part of it now. Millye Powell Hogle
