Church for drinking to an excess at divers times.   3rd Case
Br John Duncan Requested to atend (sic) on our next conference
by Br William Lancaster & Benjamin Bradley to give this
Church satisfaction for A report About drinking too much.

excess and beged (sic) forgivness (sic) he was admonished to abstain from

July Term 1836  Church sat in conference. 1st Case  Church
think it best not to grant the request of the arm to
be come a constitution until the (sic) be come stronger
with members  2nd Case  the difficulty between Br. Hunt
& Moses Allenis settled.  3rd Case  Carline Williams on

 Fellowship for going with the seperate(sic) baptist. then appointed
the following Brethren to attend the section meeting Elder
William Allen, Tucker Woodson and John Hooker then

August Term 1836  Church sat in conference, Rules of decorum
 read then appointed the following Brethren messengers to the association
meeting, William Barnett, William Allen then dismissed Brother
Samuel Walker and wife by letter.                Moses AllenClk.

September Term 1836. Church sat in conference Opened the
doors for the reception of Members, none came forward.  1st Case
the Church took up the case of the Brethren who had refused
to commune, and they requested to assign the reason for it
The following Brethren state Brother Bradley, Brother William
Lancaster, Brother H. Compton, Brother A. Hunt, Brother John
Casky, Brother Joseph Casky, stated that it was on account
of Br Bethel's name being on the convention
Wright professed to be hurt for publickly(sic) stating that
he was living in adultery. The Church say that that he shall
give satisfaction for it, laid over until next conference.
Case 3d  The letter to the association read and received  Case 4th
Dismissed by letter Bro. David Ellis and Wife.  Margaret
Burchett, Mary Lancaster and Mary Hicks by letter.
Brother Bethel professed to be grieved with Brother Wright for
publickly(sic) accusing him of living adultery.  Taken up by the
Church and referred till next conference.

October Term 1836  Church sat in conference opened the door
for the reception of members. none came forward then took up
Brother E. A. Rights case. he acknowledging he did not mean
that Brother Bethel Was living in adultery in a temporal sense
But What he Meant was the he was in favor of the Convention
and for his sentiments he had charged him of living in adultery.
The church thinks his explanation was not sufficient satisfaction
and finally excluded him for the same. The Bro. Bethel

November Term 1836 Church sat in conference opened the
door for the Reception of members, none came forward, then
dismist (sic) the following members by letter Elizabeth Gill
and Elizabeth Gill, John Casky and Wife  then dismist (sic)

February Term 1837 Church sat in conference 1 case. Br
Barnet informed the church that there was a complaint
Against Br Matison Black man for taking up with A
black woman which is not his wife. Br Jonas (James?) Fuler (sic),
William Barnet and Moses Allenapointed(sic) to inquire
in to the case and to cite the Br to next conference
and to Report to the next conference then dismissed in order.

March Term 1837  Church sat in conference opened the
door for the Reception of members, none came. then tuck (sic)
up the case of Br. Matison and found him gilty(sic)
of the charg (sic) against him and excluded him for the same

April Term 1837  Church sat in conference opened the door
for the reception of Members, none came forward then
took up the case to make choice of a patter (sic) for the
church and refered (sic) it til next conference then dismissed.

 proceeded to chose (sic) Brother H. W. Pickett, to serve as
pastor of the church for twelve months. Requested Brother Allen, I.
Doss, and Daniel Smith to acquaint Brother Pickettl of
their choice, and request him to attend our next Meeting, then

 June Term 1837  Church sat in conference. Opened the door for
the reception of members, none came forward.  Brother Pickett
being present, agree to attend the church for twelve Months
as their pastor.  2nd Case,  Appointed the messengers to attend

July Term 1837,  Church sat in conference, Opened the door
for the reception of members None came forward then dismis

August Term 1837,  Church Sat in conference, Opened the
door for the reception of Members, Brother Paschal Wright
& Elizabeth Wright by letter, then proceeded to choose
Brother William Allen and Brother William Barnett Mes-
sengers to the association and to send $1.50 to the Associa
tion fund.  then excluded John Johnson from the privilege
of the church for joining the Methodist Society.
Then took up the case of Sister Emily Boon from report
that She had Joined herself to the camelites, and laid
it over till next meeting, appointed Brother Edward & Hezekiah
Turner to converse with her on the subject and report to next
meeting  Dismissed Brother Jeremiah Baird by letter then

Sister Jane Haden by letter.  2nd Case  Brother Edward Turner
reported that Sister Emily Boones Stated to him that she had
joined the Camelite and the church excluded her for the
same.  Case 3.  Dismissed Sister Ruth Moore by letter.  The
letter to the Association read and received.  then dismissed

by letter, Nancy Barnett, Sarah Pruet, Nancy Massie, Catherine

April Term 1838  Church sat in conference, opened the door
for the reception of members received none ane this being
Our Communion Season, Brother Woodson arose and sugges-
ted the propriety of postponing the communion until
until the Brethern become more of a oneness in Sen-
timents  Which idea was replied to by moderator
and a vote of the church taken, it was found by
large majority that the church should communion---

 Sarah Paschal,  2nd Brother Paschal Wright, requested of
the church liberty to preach the Gospel, the church granted
him the privilege to exersise himself in that way which
he thought was his duty, and dismissed in order.

June Term 1838 the chruch sat in conference opened
a door for the Reception of members. Recieved Sister
Mary Lancaster by letter. 2nd dismist (sic) Sister Joycy Burford
by letter, 3rd the church proceded to nominate the
members to send up to the Section  meeting and Br.
John Hooker, William Barnet, Arch'd Allen and
Edward Turner was nominated.  4th After some remarks
respecting the choosing of a pastor it was motioned
and seconed (sic) that the voice of the church be taken
whether they wished Bro. Pickett to attend them one
more year, it was found that the church was exactly
divided, which matter was laid over until the next
meeting, then Dismist (sic) by   H. W. Pickett, Md

July Term 1838 the Church sat in conference after the
usual mode of procedure, 1st. The church took up the reference
of our last meeting, the choosing a Pastor. after some remarks
it was suggested by some of the Bore that the church
should pospone going in to the choosing a Pastor at the
present. 2nd. it was motioned and secconed (sic) that the voice
of the church be taken whether or not they should
proceed to choose. The vote was taken and a majority of the
church was in favour of choosing a pastor forthwith. 3rd. the
Church proceeded by Ballot and Elder Sion Bass  was called
to the care of this church by a majority of the members
present. 4th the letter to the section meeting was read and
recd, then dismist (sic) by Tucker WoodsonMo'd
the church requested Br. Daniel Smith to

Salem Association or No Association

August Term 1838  the Church sat in conference. opened a
door for the reception of members  Recd none  2nd  it was
motioned and seconed (sic) the rule of decorum be read also the
minutes of last meeting which was done.  Br Sion Bass came forward agreeable to the request of the church and
took his seal for Moderator.   3rd   After a great many things
were said  pro & con  Representing Association it was motioned
and second that the voice of the church be taken whether
the church represent  Salem Association or no association which
was done by ballot It was found that a majority was in favor of
not representing any   the minutes of our section meeting
was read then Dismissed with Prayer by the moderator.

 December Term 1838  The church sat in conference
opened a door for reception of member, none came
Dismist (sic) by letter Br. John Duncan, William Nun
and sister Barbary Kelly after which the
church sat some time in conference and then

January Term 19th 1839  the church met as usual after
Preaching Conference opened by prayer, a dore (sic) open for the reception
of members David Buckhannon and his wife Sarah received by letter.
2nd  Brother Sion Bass   handed in a protest that was made by the minorety
of the church, telling him not to attend Brush Creek Church any more
as there pastor any more for which the Church considers a violation of the
Constitution for which the Church considers them Excluded.
3rd  Sarah Hooker and her daughter Mary came forward and said they
were deciev’d in putting their names on the protest, and wanted to live in the
church, The Protest read and proclomation made for all that wanted their
names taken off, to come forward and take it off. None come (sic) forward
The Church appointed Brother Henry Fry  to demand the Church book,
I went to the Clerk he refus’d to give it up

Febuary 16th 1839  After preaching the Church sat in conference motion
made and seconded whether these that protested shall be excluded or not. The
Church say exclude them that sign’d the protest, the protest read and
proclomation made for all that wanted their names taken off the protest.
To come forward and take it off. None came forward  3rd  to demand the Church Book
by act of  the church nominated Brother H. Frye.  I went and demanded.
He refused to give it up the second time

March 16th 1839   Conference opened, prayer invitation given for mem-
bers to join.  Sister Jane Haden applied for a letter of dismission.  it was
granted.  Motion made and seconded the church make another Demand of the Church
Book appointed Brother Wm Barnet, Brother Bradley, H. Frye to do it.
Jane Briant come forward and said these that protested had taken her in by
telling her it was to be keep the Church together and I put my name there on the
protest.  I want to live in the Church she was rec’d , as formerly"

April Term the 20th 1839  Conference opened by prayer invitation given for
members to join, the church.  Motion made and seconded that Henry Fry
be legally chosen as Clerk the Voice of the Church taken no objection.
Motion made and seconded whether the church choose Deacons at this
or not the Church say choose, motion’d and seconded that the church choose
three.  Brother Daniel Smith, Brother Wilson Turner, Henry Fry .
Motion’d and Seconded whether the Church send for helps to ordain.
the deacons at this time the Church say send Brother J. Powel,
Brothe (sic) Jacob Fry to Bethel. so dismiss’d

May Term the 18th 1939  Conference opened by prayer Candidates for ordi-
nation presented after examination and prayer, presbitary (sic) laid hands on
them  Daniel Smith, Wilson Turner, Henry Fry Deacons Presbetary Sion Bass,
William Allen, Sister Mary Hooker that had signed  to the protest came
forward and said she wanted to live with us as usual and was rec’d
Brethren Turner, Smith and Fry appointed by act of the Church to make
another demand of the Church Book and papers which they did he would not
give it up

July Term the 20th 1839 The brethern met as usual after Preaching
set in conference away opened for experience or letter Rebecca Carter
came forward and gave in her experience and was rec'd also Anna
Wilson, she was rec'd so dismiss in order

August  Term the 17th 1839  The church met as usual a door opened
for the reception of members  none came forward  The church agree
to receive a copy of the old book, transcribed by the hand of Brother
Daniel Smith  Motion’d and seconded whether the Church
represent Round Lick association or whether the church say refuse
Round Lick brethren.  Wm Barnet and Wm Allen to go as
messengers.  Contribution two Dollars. Motioned and second’d whether
Brother Sion Bass Continue as pasture (sic) of the church or not
the church say continue Jane Pen Aplied (sic) for a leter (sic) of
dismission, it was granted so dismiss’d in order
