at the Cross Roads
on Wednesday the __ of July, 1840 Frances Heflen
give in her experience
was rec'd and baptized, the 5th sunday Elizabeth House
was baptized and
Lucy a Black woman baptized and Leonard Taylor and his
wife Sarah handed in their letters.

usual, invitation was given for the reception of members,

Brother Taylor and Fry reported Brother Rogers Case he
said that
he had went with the Missionaries and we might take him
off for
which the Church excluded him. 2nd. Brother Garrison
made application
by the Mouth of Brother Hooker for to sing and pray in
Publick (sic),
the Church say go forward. 3rd. the Church thought it
necessary to have
Brother Taylor, Hooker and Brother Woodson ordained so
proceeded
and send for helps, Bro. Wily Denney, to Bro More, Bro
Jacob Fry,
Being Brother Taylor expected to move away before
the next Church
Meeting, the Church apointed (sic) a Meeting to do this
business on Tuesday the 27th
of the month, the Church met acording (sic) to appointment
Brother West and Brot.
More came acording (sic) to request, Brother Bass faild
(sic) to come, Brother West and Broth.
More proceeded to the Business, Examined into the Brethrens
Ripeness, found
them fit for ordination, Laid their hands on them and
ordered their credentials
so dismiss’d in order.

for Disorderly Conduct and referred until next Conference.

seconded by Bro. Daniel Smith the voice was taken. The

one Bro.

they do not consider his gift
to be profitable and said take his seat as a lame (sic)
