| 1866:
Trustees elected June 4th, 1866—Osborn Downs, President; John Walker Downs, Secretary; George Downs, Treasurer; Archibald Campbell, Jr., and Wesley Vanaman. Brother George Downs was appointed to collect money, (an old and well established Methodist habit you observe,) and Brother Shimp, who was the preacher at that time, was appointed to purchase a new carpet for the church. (John W. and Osborn Downs, also Aquilla’s sons.) |
