1930:
On January 17, 1930 a Ladies’ Aid Society was organized under the leadership of Rev. Leolin R. Howell, Pastor. The second meeting was supposed to have been held in February when tragedy struck: two of our beloved members, Mrs. William F. Lacroix and Miss May Baker, while walking to the meeting, were struck by a hit-run driver and killed instantly.

Due to a change in the women’s societies throughout the Conference in 1940, the name of our Lady's Aid Society was changed to the Woman’s Society of Christian Service on February 14, 1941.
