FOURTH GENERATION

134. Margaret Spencer "Polly" VAUGHT was born on Feb 19 1811 in White County, Illinois. She died on Nov 3 1844 in White County, Illinois. She was buried in Herald's Cemetery, Herald's Prairie, White County, Illinois. Death date on tombstone according to the White County Cemetery records - Nov 3 1841 (1841 must have been misread on the tombstone as Fanny was born in 1844 and Fanny was 6 years old in the 1850 census records.)

She named a daughter Eliza and her daughter Fanny Hoskins 6 yrs was visiting Abram and Eliza Vaught on Oct 12th 1850 when the census taker came by: leading me to believe that these are Margaret's parents. Fanny was also found at her parents home when the 1850 census taker came there.

She was apparently called Polly and joined the Lick Creek Primitive Baptist Church by experience in Feb. 1836. (A Nancy and Isaac Vaught also joined the church that month. Not a brother and sister according to the list in the will of sister, Eliza J. Vaught.

She was listed as excluded and then in 1836 Margaret Hoskins joined by letter and was later listed as dead in the church meeting minutes.
