Notes: Henry Clay Albright was a Captain in the Confederate Army. At the battle if Gettysburg he led his company, part of the 26th North Carolina Regiment, into Pickett's famous charge. The regiment of 800 troops went into battle July 1, 1863, and all but 216 became casualties. The next day the regiment carried on the fight and Captain Albright was one of only 80 survivors. Later he fought in the battle of Squirrel Level where he was wounded and died in Winder hospital at age 24. Copied from Alamance County,,,,, The Legacy of its People and Places. Page 28.
