MEBANE - Mrs. Ruby Andrews Sykes, 77, of 2502 South N.C. 119, formerly of Providence Road, Graham, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, 1993, at The Presbyterian Home of Hawfields after several years failing health.

A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Loretta Payne Andrews and wife of the late Ralph E. Sykes. She was a retired teacher from the Alamance County Schools, where she taught for 41 years. She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church of Christ.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Providence United Church of Christ by the Rev. Darryl Peebles, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Surviving are son, Dr. Andy Sykes of Liberty; brother, Walter Andrews of Graham; two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 7-8:30 tonight at McClure Funeral Home, Graham.
