David Vital Allain

David was of French Acadian ancestry. He was educated in the Neguac, Northumberland Co, NB public school and Dalhousie High School.
He was a general merchant, farmer & lobster canner of Neguac. Was in partnership with L.V. Allain, and served on the Northumberland Co. Municipal Council for several terms.
First elected to House of Assembly of NB, as a member for Northumberland Co, at GE 24 Feb 1917. Sat as member until dissolution in 1920. Defeated at GE 9 Oct 1920, also defeated in a by-election held 1 Oct 1921 to fill the vacancy created by the death of the sitting member John W. Vanderbeck. Subsequently retired from active political life. Defeated 3 Oct 1921.
David m.1) 6 Oct 1890, Miss Helen Allain, who d. Oct 1905. She was the d/o Octave Allain, Esq. of, Neguac, NB.

William was educated in the Neguac public school, and High School in Ont. He rec'd his First Class Teacher's License and taught school for a number of years. Served on Northumberland Co. Municipal Council for his parish for many years.
Appointed accountant for the Maritime Penitentiary, Dorchester, NB & held this position until he d. in 1930.
First elected to house of Assembly of NB, as a member for Northumberland Co. at GE, 3 Mar 1908, and was re-elected at the GE of 20 June 1912, sat until dissolution of the Legislature in 1917, when he retired.
William m. 22 July 1894, Miss Mary Jean Allain; d. 21 Apr 1944; bur. R.C. Cemetery Neguac; d/o Olivier Allain, Esq., Riviere des Caches, NB.
