Benjamin Bailey, b. ca. 1751, England , d. Fanjoy's Point, Queens Co, NB, m. Susannah Wanty, b. ca. 1754, d/o Judge Wanty.
According to Wiggins, Benjamin Bailey, was a U.E. Loyalist, born in England, settled in the American States, and joined the side of the Royal party during the revolution. He came to St. John in 1783, and subsequently settled on the Oromocto. He afterwards moved to the Grand Lake and settled on Fanjoy's Point, where he died. His wife was a daughter of Judge Wanty and sister of Captain Benjamin Wanty of the Royal Navy.
In a copy of the poll book - election of Represenatives for Sunbury Co. At the poll which opened 1 Sep 1795, Benjamin Bailie/Jurat/owned a freehold in Burton and Abode in Burton. He voted for James Glenie, Esq. & Saml.D. Street, Esq.1. James, chr. [6 Apr] 1788

Benjamin Bailey, a U.E. Loyalist, born in England, settled in the American States, and joined the side of the Royal party during the revolution. He came to St. John in 1783, and subsequently settled on the Oromocto. He afterwards moved to the Grand Lake and settled on Fanjoy's Point, where he died. His wife was a daughter of Judge Wanty and sister of Captain Benjamin Wanty of the Royal Navy. His children were James, Joseph, Mary, Phoebe, William, John, Sarah, Susanna and Esther. John is now living at Newcastle, Queen's, aged 86 years. His wife's maiden name was Mary Duette. His sons were Abraham, John, Gideon, Charles and Luke. Abraham and Duncan, sons of Abraham, are comfortable farmers. Gideon was born at Oromocto, Feb. 25th, 1817. He moved to Grand Lake in 1839 and has since been one of the leading lumber merchants of Queen's County. He has for several years been Lieut-Colonel of the militia and President of the Agricultural Society. He was elected representative to the Assembly in 1865, but was defeated the following year on the question of Confereration. He was re-elected in 1870, and sat till April 1872, when he was called to the Legislative Council. Mrs. Bailey is a daughter of the late Capt. Arthur Branscombe

John Bailey, b. 26 Nov 1785, Blissville, Burton Parish / Oromocto River, S/W, d. 18 Mar 1863, Blissville, Sunbury Co, NB., m. 22 Sep 1808 (aged 24 yrs) Mary G. DeWitt, chr. 6 Mar 1788 (or Nov?), S/W Branch Oromocto, d. before 1863, as above (? S/W Branch Oromocto). She was the daughter of John/Jan DeWitt of the New Jersey Volunteers, and h/w Phoebe DuRose. John was a farmer and res. on Lot 2, 1809, S/W Branch of Oromocto, Blissvile, Sunbury Co, NB, and was a Baptist. His parents were probably Benjamin S. Bailey & Susannah Wanty (Wanteigh) (also has record he was their 6th child.)

Queens Co. / Liberal (01), Cons. (02) / MLA, MLC / BaptistGideon Dore Bailey b. 25 Feb, 1819 at Oromocto, Sunbury Co., NB; d. 20 May 1879 at res. Newcastle, Queens Co., NB; probate 1879-80 of Canning at m; bur. at Baptist Cem., Newcastle Creek, Canning Par., Queens Co., NB. He was s/o John Bailey and Mary Duette. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Bailey (b. Eng.) and Wanty (d/o Judge).
He was educated at common school, Oromocto.
He resided at Newcastle, Queens Co. He was a farmer.
He was president of the Agricultural Society for a number of years. He attained the rank of Lt.-Col. in the volunteer militia.
Gideon unsuccessfully contested Queen's Co. for House of Assembly at the GE's of July 1850, 6 May 1857 (or 1856?) and 15 June 1861.
He was first elected GE of 29 Mar. 1865 - opposed to Confederation - sat until dissolution in 1866. He was defeated in GE of 1866, but elected at GE of 14 July 1870 and sat until 1872 when he was appointed to the Legislative Council of NB on 30 Apr. 1872 and continued there until his death in 1879, (d. 1880)
His first marriage was 2 Feb, 1848 at Queen's Co., Hannah Branscombe, who d. ae. 32 yrs on 18 Oct. 1854. She was d/o Capt. Arthur Branscombe of Waterborough.
His second marriage was to Miss Rachel [___] and d. 1903,(No children listed)
