    Anthony served as a privateer during War. In 1784 granted land south side of Saint John River at Kingston Parish, Kings Co, NB. Eventually settled in Carleton Co, NB. In 1804 appointed one of the 1st officers of Wakefield Parish - became commissioner of highways.
    He arrived in NB aboard the HOPE with one man, one woman, 2 children over 10 years of age and three under 10 years. He was listed with a servant (slave?) in NY, but none with him on the ship or arrival.

    Jesse Wheelock Baker was b. 30 Nov. 1854 at Baker Brook, Madawaska Co., NB; d. 28 Oct. 1930 at Montreal, PQ ae 75 yrs; bur. at R.C. Cemetery, Baker Brook, NB. He was s/o Enoch Baker and Madeline Ouellette. Jesse's paternal grandparents were Nathan Baker and Sopia Rice (d/o Enoch, of Brookfield, Mass.), d. 1883/ 98 yrs. Sophia m.2) John Baker (her bro-in-law) who figured in the Maine Boundary Dispute, 1827-1828. He came to Madawaska in 1820 from Bay de Chaleur area.
    He was educated in public schools.
    Jesse located at Baker Brook, Madawaska Co., NB. Engaged in farming, lumber scaling, and as a forest inspector. He was a Justice of the Peace, and a Parish Court Commissioner. Enlisted in the Militia, 1869 in the 67th Batt. as a private. He rose to Lt. Col. Commanded the NB Batt. in 1885 in the Canadian West at the time of the second Riel Rebellion.
    He was elected at GE 3 March 1908. He retired at dissolution in 1912.
    He first married Sept. 1876, to Vennie Hebert, who d. 1 Mar. 1888 at [__]. She was d/o Lawrence Hebert, Esq., a farmer from Madawaska, ME.
    His second marriage was on 21 June 1892, to Bethsaidie Martin, who d. 3 Oct. 1951, ae 90 yrs. She was d/o Christostome Martin, Esq., a farmer from Caron Brook.
