    John Yeamans b. 1735, Duchess Co, NY, chr. 27 Sep 1795, Gagetown, Queens Co, NB, d. 26 Sep 1824, ae 89 yrs, Newcastle, Grand Lake, Old Loyalist Cem, Syphers Cove, Canning, Queens Co, NB, m. Hannah [---] ? or Martha [---], chr. 27 Sep 1795, Gagetown. (or both?)

    He located at ...
    He sided with the Crown in the Revolutionary War, and at the close of that War,
came from Dutchess Co, New York, to NB, with five sons and three daughters.
    Settled in Queens Co along the St John River, and later moved to Waterborough,
where he resided until his decease. Was appointed a Justice of the Peace and a
Justice of the Inferior Court of Common Pleas for Queens County. Was a member of
the A.F. & A.M.
    Married, ...  Family of ...
    First elected to the House of Assembly, as one of the members for Queens County,
at the first GE, in the new Province of NB in November, 1785, with Samuel
Dickenson (qv) as colleague. Re-elected at the next four consecutive GE's of the
Legislature in 1816, when he declined re-nomination and retired from public life.
He died, 26 Sep 1824, at his residence, Waterborough, Queens Co, NB, aged eighty-
nine years. Buried in the old Loyalist Cemetery, Syphers Cove, Canning, Queens
County.

    He was held prisoner for a time. Rec'd a grant in Kings Co, but settled at Grand Lake, Queens Co, where he was a Magistrate and a Member of the House of Assembly for that Co in 1786.

YEAMANS, RICHARD 1775-1846

    Richard Yoamans was born --- 1775, in Dutchess Co, NY. Son of John Yeamans (1735-1824) and his wife, ---  Of Colonial English ancestry. Came with his father and family to NB, after the Revolutionary War, and settled in Queens County.
    Located at Waterborough, Queens Co, & engaged in farming.
    Married 20 Mar 1796 at Gagetown, to Miss Rebecca Babbitt, d/o Daniel Babbitt, Esq, Gagetown, NB, a Loyalist.
    Family of ---
    First elected to the House of Assembly of NB, as one of the members fro Queens
County, at the GE of Sep 1816, with Samuel Scovil (qv) as colleague. Was unseated
for infraction of the Rules of the House of Assembly, but was re-elected at the
Bye-election held until the dissolution of the Legislature in 1820. At the GE of
Jun 1820, he was defeated, and retired from active politics.
    He subsequently moved to Canada West and resided there until his decease.
    He died Feburary 18th 1846, at Markham, Canada West, aged seventy-one years. Survived by his widow, and ...  Buried at Markham, ON.  Mrs. Yeaman died 24 May 1847, aged seventy-five years.
