ARCHIBALD J NICOLLS, b. 1845 in Longford, Ireland. Barrister-at-Law.
d. 1921
Practiced in Eccles St. Dublin, at the same time as and in the same street as
Leopold Bloom from Joyce's Ulyses.
Married MARY HEAD, from Limerick City. d. 1938
Had 5 children, - 4 boys and 1 girl. Were Roman Catholics.
The girl, EVELEEN or EILIN was a wonderful scholar. She was drowned on
the Blasket Islands, off the coast of Kerry, on 13th August 1909.
Her brother GEORGE became a Member of Parliament in the new Irish state
in 1901. He lived in Galway, Ireland, where he died in 1942. Married, but not
certain about family.
Another brother, CASPER, qualified as a doctor and emigrated to Bolivia.
Another brother EDWARD, nothing known. And the fourth brother, no name
appears in 1901 census.

I am particularly researching Margaret Nichol who married Robert
McConnell about 1830 and
they had :
Robert (whose father was Rob Hart & mother Margaret Nichol
- of Boughal?) born 1827, Mary born at Seacon 1832 and William
John, born Seacon 1835. That William may have died and another born
in 1845.

Mary and John moved to Glasgow in early 1860's-had 2 sons there-

Thomas Donaldson b. 1868 Port Glasgow
Mary and John then move to Belfast, have at least 3 more children-
Mary Jane Donaldson b.1870 Belfast
James Nicholl Donaldson b.1873 Belfast
and William Donaldson b.1877 Belfast
Mary and John spent the best part of their married life in East Belfast. Can
find them on 1901 census return but not as yet on 1911. Deaths unknown, to
be checked out soon.

married Eliza Jane Sherwin of Northumberland in 1865.

Extended family includes many members of the Leach family which include a
George,
Saul, and Dan...don't know how they connect to Ireland, except through Margaret.
