4430. Benjamin Albee was born in 1614 in Norfolk, England (Probably). He died after 1675. Benjamin Albee, a carpenter, was made a freeman on May 18, 1642. He was among the origin al settlers of Medfield in 1649, having a home lot of 4 acres on Bridge Street. He was mad e a selectman in 1651. He was made a commissioner in 1659. He had a grant of houselot in Me ndon in 1653. He was chosen as a selectman at the first Mendon town meeting, June 7, 1667.
Propietors Records of Mendon state: "Benjamin Albee, a 20 acre lot and 50 acres o f lan d and 6 acres of meadow for the encouragement of a grist mill. " This mill was burned by Ind ians in the 1675/1676 war.
