In the Name of God Amen. I, Hezekiah Beede , of Kingston in the county of Rockingham & State of New Hampshire. Yeoman being of a sound disposing mind & memory do make this my last will & testament, & after humbly recommending my soul to God & my body to a decent interment, my worldly Estate I devise in manner following viz

ITEM I give & bequeath to Judith, my dearly beloved Wife the use of the west End of my dwelling house to Contain one half of the house which I now live in from the top to the bottom with a privilege in the Cellar & half the great Barn viz the west End & the homeplace where I now live all for her to use improve & take the profit so long as she shall remain my widow further I give my said wife one half of my household furniture & two Cows six Sheep and heiffer that is coming in three & a horse & swine & my [ ? ] all to be at her disposal to be delivered her at my Decease by my Executor.

ITEM I give & bequeath to Phinehas Beede my beloved Son all my land in Poplin viz that Land I purchased of Thomas Edgerly & Enoch Bean to have & to hold to him the said Phinehas Beede his heirs & Assigns forever with the building therein.

ITEM I give & bequeath to Bezaleel Beede my beloved Son two hundred Dollars to be paid him by my Executor one hundred in one year after my decease & the other hundred in two years after my decease he having had the most of his portion of my Estate already.

ITEM I give & bequeath to Keziah Beede my beloved Son one Dollar to be paid by my Executor at my decease he the said Keziah having had his portion out of my Estate in Money already.

ITEM I give & bequeath to Azariah Beede my beloved Son one hundred acre lot of land in the township of Stafford in the State of Vermont County of Orange which I purchased of Ezra Gilbert to have & to hold to him his heirs & Assigns forever further I give him thirteen Dollars to be paid by my Executor in one year after my decease.

ITEM I give & bequeath to Jeremiah Beede my beloved Son all my land in Kingston with the buildings thereon to have & to hold to him his heirs & Assigns forever but my meaning is that he the said Jeremiah Beede nor no person for him should interrupt or molest my said Wife his Mother in the improvement of what I have given her to use improve & take the profits so long as she shall remain my widow, further I give my said Son Jeremiah Beede all my Stock of Cattle & all my notes & debts due to me & all my tools for man & beast to work with out Doors he to pay all my honest debts & Legacies mentioned forhim to pay in this my will & to deliver his mother the before mentioned Cows Sheep Horse Swine Heiffer & household furniture & watch (?) as mentioned in this my will & to be at the cost of my funeral.

ITEM I give & bequeath to Hephzibah Beede my beloved Daughter now the wife of Elisha Bean one dollar to be paid by my Executor at my decease she having had her portion already of my Estate.

ITEM I give & bequeath to Mehetabel Beede my beloved Daughter now the wife of Nathaniel Kimbal one Dollar to be paid at my decease by my Executor she having had her portion of my Estate already.

ITEM I give & bequeath to Keziah Beede my beloved Daughter now wife of Caleb Kimbal one Cow & one Dollar to be delivered at my decease by my Executor she having had the most of her portion of my Estate already.

ITEM I give & bequeath to Jehoshabah Beede my beloved Daughter now the wife of Edward Magoon one Dollar to be paid at my decease by Executor she having had her portion of my Estate already.

ITEM I give & bequeath to Deborah Beede my beloved Daughter the other half of my household furniture that I have not given to my said wife in this my last will & a Cow & two Sheep to be delivered her by my Executor on her Marriage Day but if my said Daughter Deborah should not marry I will & order my Executor to find her a good support out of what I have given him in this my will during her natural life or remain a single woman but if she should Marry then to deliver her the household furniture & Cow & Sheep as mentioned in this my will.

Further I do appoint my said Son Jeremiah Beede to be sole Executor of this my last will & testament & I hereby revoke all other wills by me made & ratify this to be my last will & testament.

In Witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this thirtieth Day of January one thousand seven hundred & ninety six. (30 JAN 1796)

State of New Hampshire: to all people to whom these presents shall come Jeremiah Smith Esq. Judge of Probate in & for the County of Rockingham sendeth Greeting -

Know Ye that on the Day of the Date hereof before me at Exeter in said County the Instrument a Copy of which is here unto annexed preporting the last will & testament of Hezekiah Beede late of Kingston in said County Yeoman deceased was presented for probate by Jeremiah Beede the Executor therein named & all the witnesses whose names are thereto subscribed being then present made solemn Oath that they saw the said testator sign seal & heard him declare the said Instrument to be his last will and testament that he was then to the best of their judgement of sound & disposing mind & that they subscribed their names together as witnesses to the Execution thereof in the presence of the said Testator. I do therefore prove approval & allow of the said Instrument as the last will & testament of the said deceased & do hereby commit the Administration thereof in all Matters the same Concerning & of his Estate whereof he died seized & possessed in said State unto him the aforesaid Executor will & faithfully to execute the said will & testament & to administer the Estate of the said deceased according to the same who accepted of his said trust & is directed to exhibit an Inventory of said Estate according to law & he shall rendor an Account upon Oath of his proceedings therein when lawfully thereto required.

In Testimony whereof I have here unto set my hand & the Seal of the Court of probate forsaid County. Dated at Exeter aforesaid the twelfth Day of May Amo Domini 1801. (12 MAY 1801)

Vol 33, page 481 of this microfilm is the INVENTORY statement which is dated 21 May 1801. Inventory lists all debts paid, and assets of real estate and personal property for a total amount of $4,923.45
