Sergeant
Albert Philbrook
(1819-1864)
(Seth7, Joel6, Job5, Jonathan4, William3, Thomas2, Thomas1).
This is a drawing made by Albert's son Cyrus about 1863 when Cyrus was 15 years old. It depicts his father heading off to join the Union Army during the Civil War on one of the two horses that the family owned. This made it difficult for the family to farm with only one horse but Albert needed it in order to join the Cavalry. However, they survived. This was the last time Cyrus saw his father because Albert died at Andersonville Prison on 29 Nov 1864.
