Capt. Peter Philbrick
died June 23, 2002, at home after a long battle with brain cancer.
Following high school, he enlisted in the Air Force and was assigned
to Dobbins AFB, Ga., where he was involved in electronic equipment
used in Instrument Landing Systems and rose to the rank of staff
sergeant.
Captain Philbrick was selected to attend the College of Engineering
and Applied Sciences at Arizona State University. He graduated with
honors, earning a degree in Computer Systems Technology.
He was accepted for and graduated from Officer Training School. He
was assigned to the Space Technology Program at Los Angeles AFB,
Calif., as a second lieutenant.
Following that assignment he was assigned to Hanscom, where he was
involved in Air Force Intelligence.
Captain Philbrick participated in the Marine Corps Marathon, where
he finished in less than three hours, and twice in the Boston
Marathon, finishing in close to three hours.
