Alice M. Philbrick, LACONIA
LACONIA-Alice M. Philbrick, 92, died Tuesday at Belknap County Nursing Home. She
was born in Laconia, the daughter of Edward and Roseanna ( Carignan) McAwley.
She attended St. John's School in Laconia. She lived in Puerto Rico and
California for many years before returning to New Hampshire. She lived in
Gilford for 16 years and moved to Laconia in 1989. She was formerly of Church
Street in Laconia and the Lakes Region Mobile Home Village in Gilford. Philbrick
was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Laconia. Survivors include a son,
William Philbrick of Denver; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces,
grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. Her husband, David
Philbrick, died in 1982; three sisters, Margaret Mason, Agnes Bolduc and Mary
Fitzpatrick, and two brothers, Thomas McAwley and Theodore McAwley, died
previously. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 6 to 9 p.m. in the carriage
house of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St. Laconia. A Mass of
Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. Joseph Church in
Laconia. The Rev. Gary Kosmowski, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial
will follow in the family lot, Bayside Cemetery. Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home,
Laconia, is in charge of the arrangements.
