Arthur C. Philbrook, HENNIKER
HENNIKER-Arthur C. Philbrook, 78, of Bear Hill Road, died Saturday after a long
illness. He was born in Lynn, Mass., the son of Charles and Fanni (Jordan)
Philbrook. He was educated in Milford and had lived in Nashua. He served with
the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a rifleman with the 78th Amphibian
Tank Co. from 1943 to 1946 and received the European-African-Middle Eastern
Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the Purple Heart. He worked as
store manager for IGA Stores in Nashua, Hudson and Merrimack for 37 years. He
was a member of the American Legion Post No. 0059 of Hillsboro. He enjoyed
fishing and hunting. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Joyce (Manzo)
Philbrook of Henniker; five sons, Christopher Philbrook of Hennkier, David
Philbrook of Windham, Donald Philbrook and Ronald Philbrook of Nashua, and Danhy
Philbrook of Walnut, Calif.; six daughters, Susan Rollins, Deborah Philbrook,
Shirley Philbrook, Candice Chase and Cynthia Duhamel, all of Nashua, and Sharon
Sanders of Milford; a brother, Richard Philbrook of Plainville, Mass.; a sister,
Georgianna Luba of Nashua; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and
nephews. His first wife, Nellie (Lefebrve) Philbrook, died in 1975. Calling
hours will be held today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in Davis Funeral Home, 1
Lock St., Nashua. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. in the
funeral home. The Rev. Edward Koonz will officiate. Burial will follow in
Edgewood Cemetery in Nashua. Davis Funeral Home, Nashua, is in charge of the
arrangements.
