From the Washington County [Kansas] Register,

Mrs. C. H. Philbrook Passes
This community was saddened by the death Saturday morning of Mrs C. H. Philbrook
who passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ivan Sleigh, of Lexington
Nebraska. Mrs Philbrook had been visiting her daughter and her family for
several weeks but had been in frail health, due to shock received in an
automobile accident when she and Mr Philbrook and Mr and Mrs J. T. Sleigh were
driving to Lexington. She had not been bedfast, however, and her condition was
not felt to be alarming until a few hours before she passed away.
Mrs Philbrook was a kindly warm-hearted woman who took an active part in the
affairs of her community and she will be greatly missed.
