TO ALL people to whom these presents shall come Greeting, Whereas William Knap Late of Watertown in the bound of Midd. in New England, who died intestate was in his life time seized of one messuage or tenant situate, lying & being within ye bounds and limits of ye above town, above named, containing one dwelling house & barne, with orchard, yards & lands adjoining by affirmation about eighteen acres more or less, & is bounded with the Country Highway on the north, Edmund Bloyse on the East, Wm Barhtham & Thomas Fanning on the south, & on the West side of the land of Jno Sawin, with all privileges & appurtenances to the Land applying or in any wise belonging, & which was by cause (?) of the said court held at Cambr, October 15th 1659 Divided to Priscilla Knap his relicit widow, one third part of said messuage or tenant during her natural life and the remainder thereof together with the Reversion of the widow's third was Divided with & between William Knap, Jno Knap, James Knap, Mary Smith, Judith Cady children of the said Wm Knap together with the children of John Philbrick Deceased. Also whereas the aforesaid William Knap, James Knap, Thomas Smith, husband of the aforesaid Mary Smith & Nicholas Cady husband of the aforesaid Judith Cady Joyntly & severally for valuable consideration to them in hand payed to their full content & satisfaction by John Knap their Brother have granted, bargained & sold assigned enfeefed & confirmed to the said Jno Knap heir respective shares & parts in all that above named messuage or tenant (excepting on their interest in the reversion of the widow's third). Also whereas the said Jno Knap hath by one Deed by Him & Sarah his wife signed & sealed & bearing date November 26th 1661, granted bargained & sold, Aliened, enfeffed & confirmed the one moiety of the said messuage or tenant to Nathaniel Coolidge of the Said Town, Taylor, the said moiety or one half part comprehending & containing as well the parts & shares purchased by the said John Knap of his brothers William Knap, James Knap, Thomas Smith and Nicholas Cady, as also the part & share of the said John Knap. Now this witnesseth that the said William Knap, James Knap & Elizabeth his wife, Thomas Smith & Mary his wife, Nicholas Cady & Judith his wife for themselves, their heirs, executors & administrators, them & either of them, do fully, clearly & absolutely, confirme & release unto the said Nathaniel Coolidge, His Heirs & assigns forever, All that their estate, right, title or interest, in or unto the above sd messuage or tenant being the late messuage of their father Wm Knap Deceased with the lands adjoinig & bounded as bove said further also know ye that the above named William Knap, John Knap & Sarah his wife, James Knap & Elizabeth his wife, Thomas Smith & Mary his wife, Nicholas Cady & Judith his wife, for & in consideration of a valuable sum or sums of money to them well & truly paid by the above named Nathaniel Coolidge; the receipt whereof they the said William Knap, Jno Knap, James Knap, Thomas Smith & Nicholas Cady do acknowledge & therewith to be fully satisfied & contented thereof & of and in part & parcel thereof, do fully, wholly & absolutely exonerate, acquit & discharge the said Nathaniel Coolidge his Heirs, Executors & Administrators forever by these presents, have granted bargained & sold, Alined, enfeefed & confirmed and by these presents do fully, wholly & absolutely, grant, bargain & sell, alien, enfeef & confirm, unto Him the said Nathaniel Coolidge, All their right, title and interest that they either have or might claim in the reversion of the one third part of the above named messuage or tenant assigned unto Priscilla the relict widow of the aforenamed Wm Knap Deceased as above premises, To Have & to Hold all the above named, released, granted & bargained of premise or Hereby meant, mentioned, or intended to be released, granted, Bargained, & Sold, unto Him the said Nathaniel Coolidge His Heirs & Assigns forever, to his and their only proper use & behoof, And the said William Knap, John Knap & Sarah his wife, Nicholas Cady & Judeth his wife, for themselves, their Heirs, Executors & Administrators of them & either of them, Do covenant, promise & grant to & with the said Nathaniel Coolidge His Heirs & Assigns by these presents that the said Nathaniel Coolidge his Heirs,& asssigns shall or may at times, & from time to time for and hereafter, Have, Hold, occupy, possess & injoy the premises in & by these presents granted, bargained & Sold, aliened & released, & entire part & parcel without the lett, trouble, expulsion, disturbance, contradiction or denial of them the said William Knap, John Knap & Sarah his wife, James Knap & Elizabeth his wife, Thomas Smith & Mary his wife, Nichols Cady & Judeth his wife, thirs Heirs, Executors, Adminstrators & Assigns of them,or of either of them or by any persons Lawfully claiming & having any right, title or interest in or unto the above named messuage or tenant by, from, or under (?) them, or either of them. In witness whereof the above named William Knap, Jno Knap & Sarah his wife, James Knap & Elizabeth his wife, Thomas Smith & Mary his wife, Nicholas Cady & Judeth his wife, Have hereunto put their Hands & Seals the first day of April In the year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred and sixty & two.
