John R. Overstreet of Newton Co. MS, 

A Pvt. in Capt. Daniels Co. apparently convalescent, after an attack of small pox at Matamoras,  a slight exposure, however, brought on by typhoid fever, which  generally follows the small pox. He died at the residence of  Mr. Johnson, on Tuesday.
