    OVERSTREET - BASS
Last evening at 6:30 o'clock the Methodist church, in this place,
was filled by the friends of Mr. H. E. OVERSTREET and Miss Alma Bass, who
assembled to witness the ceremony that was to bind them together as man and wife. It
was not their intention to have a public ceremony, and made their plans to
that end, yet the news spread abroad and the assembly noted above responded
as a mark of esteem in which they are held by the public.
The ceremony was simple, there being nothing of elaborateness about
it. Yet there was not a person who witnessed it but who was affected by its
solemnity and silently breathed a prayer for the happy young couple as
they assumed the obligations required by the officiating minister, Rev. J. F. Bell,
 Pastor of the church.
Immediately after the ceremony the couple was driven to the home of
the groom where a reception was tendered by quite a number of their most
 intimate friends.
The groom is a young man who was born and reared here and is
therefore known to all our people. He is recognized as being steady, sober,
industrious and possesses the utmost confidence of everyone. While the bride is
possessed of the public estimation in no less a degree. Their union therefore
attracted much interest among our people, with whom we join in congratulations
upon this auspicious event in their lives and wishes for a long career of
 happiness and prosperity.

    OVERSTREET-BENNETT
Osceola County Man Weds One of Starke's Fairest Daughters.
At 6:30 p.m. December 6th, many relatives and friends were impressed
with a most beautiful and solemn marriage scene when Mr. Henry L. OVERSTREET
of Kissimmee led to the marriage altar Miss Leona Bennett of Starke. The
marriage altar and parlor were beautifully decorated with emblems becoming the
 occasion.
The bride looked lovelier than ever in her tasteful attire of pure
white, holding in her hand a bouquet of bride's roses, corresponding with the
loveliness of her modesty and beauty, and with the manly groom by her side they
made a handsome couple, upon whom all looked with admiration while Elder Wm.
F.Malphurs with solemn ceremony united them in holy matrimony and
pronounced them husband and wife, henceforth in interest and destiny, as in affection,
one. Then a sumptuous supper was served and enjoyed by the guests.
The bride is the youngest daughter of Mrs. Evelyn Bennett. She is a
native of Starke, whose many good qualities make her a favorite wherever she
is known and qualify her in an eminent degree to be queen of her own
household. The groom is a highly respected citizen and well-to-do farmer, orange
grower and stock raiser of Osceola county.
They were escorted to the depot by a host of relatives and friends,
and at 11 o'clock left, under a shower of rice, for their future home in
Osceola county, followed by kindest regards of many, who wish them bon voyage
on the sea of wedded life. - Starke Telegraph.

UNION OF HEARTS
Between Mr. E. L. D. OVERSTREET and Mrs. E. M. Christie.
One of the happiest marriages that ever occurred in Kissimmee took
place on Monday night, May 1st, when Mr. E. L. D. OVERSTREET was joined in holy
wedlock to Mrs. E. M. Christie at the home of the bride in the southern part of
the city, Rev. Runyan Stephens performing the ceremony.
The bride came to Kissimmee from Conway Springs, Kan., a little over
a year ago, and in that short time has made many warm friends, as she
possesses a personality that attracts all with whom she comes in contact.
Mr. OVERSTREET is one of the best known men in Osceola county,
having served his people in the office of county tax collector, member of the
House of Representatives and is now a member of the Board of County
Commissioners. He has lived in this community for many years, and is one of the county's
leading financiers, as well as owner of a large herd of cattle and an extensive
farm. There is no movement ever inaugurated for the advancement of Osceola
county but what he is among the foremost in its advocacy, and spares neither time
nor money to make it a success. In all matters that come before the
Commissioners his views are forcibly expressed, and it is seldom that are not accepted,
for he is considered one of the soundest men that ever held membership on that
Board.
The happy couple have been the recipients of the most hearty congratulations from all our people for a peaceful, happy and
prosperous life. They will make their home on Mr. OVERSTREET's farm and ranch at Shingle Creek.
