My Grandmother Octa Ellen Hannah Dixon

                                 A Route 2, Republic woman didn't think her birthday
                                 was happening on an unusual day Thursday.
                                 But for her, it was even more unusaul than for others
                                 who were observing the anniversary of their
                                 birth on the seventh day of the seventh month of the
                                 77th year of this century.
                                 Mrs. Arvil (Octa) Dixon turned 77 Thursday. She
                                 was born on July 7, 1900, in Christian County.
                                 She said she didn't even think about turning 77 on
                                 7-7-77 until she got phone calls from relatives.
                                 How did she celebrate the extra special day?
                                 By working in the garden, she said.
