Misc. Notes
Cornelius came from Woerdon, Holland with his family (wife and at least 4 children) in or about 1652. He was one of the founders of the Kingston, NY settlement. He was appointed to the Board of Schepens (colonial assembly) by Gov Peter Stuyvesant, before New York was yielded by the Dutch to the British. The names of both Cornelius and Tyrntje can be found on a marble plaque at the Old Dutch Church in Kingston, NY. The records also show that Cornelius fought against the British in 1666 and, as a result, was banished (perhaps imprisioned) for three years
