Feb. 1844, Bedford Co. Grantee's Book 33, p. 87/89: Aaron Jacobs from Sally Burroughs, et. al. 151 1/4 acres on Richardson's Mill Creek, the dower land of Polly Burroughs, for $605. Beginning at Kennett's line, also adjoining Cundiff and Johnson.
1491853 Aaron and Judy Jacobs sold 151 1/4 acres on Richardson Mill Creek, adjoining Ora B. Kennett to Thomas Fitzpatrick.
149I can't find Richardson Mill Creek on any maps, but from other info, the land was near Toler's ferry on the Staunton River.

FROM ELAINE KELLER, 8-Mar-03: “I ran across it today when searching for "Richardson's Mill Creek" because it is part of the meets and bounds legal description of land on the deeds where my ancestor Richard Keenum purchased land from the Caudiffs, and which his son James later sold. I couldn't find RMC either, but I think I figured it out. There never WAS a creek named "Richardson's Mill Creek" in Bedford County. One of the things I did run into on my search was the fact that one of the earliest land grants in the county was to a man named Richardson for some land located on both banks of Mill Creek. Some lawyer, trying to be specific about it, referred to the Mill Creek property that originally belonged to Richardson as ‘Richardson's Mill Creek.’ Since the legal description of land on each new deed is based upon any prior deed, whatever the first lawyer called the area stuck.”]
