OBITUARY
Robert Roark (1961 entered by pen)
Robert Sherman Roark, 77, husband pf Emma Haley Roark, died at his home at Hurt at 9:40 p. m., Friday, following an illness of ten weeks.
He was born in Pittsylvania August 26, 1883 a son of James and Tabitha Shields Roark. He was a member of Hurt Methodist Church and was a retired farmer.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons, James Roark and Sidney Roark, both of Hurt; six daughters, Mrs. Irving Simpson, Mrs. Orie Dalton, Mrs. William East, Mrs. Herman McDaniel, and Mrs. Bennie Bettton, all of Hurt, and Mrs. George Barnard of Baltimore, Md.; one brother Brack Roark of Hurt; 27 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Jack Minnick and the Rev. L. E. Pritchett officiated.
Pallbearers were Edd Ramsey, Dick Farmer, H. C. Winston, Carl Holt, Grady Toller, M. S. Copes, W. R. Crawley and Sidney Wood.408
