Enlisted on 15-Mar-1862 at Campbell County, VA as a Private. On 4-Oct-1862 he transferred into VA Morris Light Artillery. He died on 22-Dec-1863 in camp near Frederick Hall, VA and was buried there. His widow, Susan L. Roark was paid $79.39 on 14-Feb-1865.491
