This is the Hawes Coleman who wrote Coleman Records in 1839. He lived in Rockfish Valley, Virginia. (American Revolution Pension #S16732) Hawes married three times. His first wife was a Miss Goodwin by whom he had no issue. She was the daughter of Peter Goodwin and Ann Coleman. His second wife was Nancy Ann Harris. She was the tenth child of William Harris and Mary Netherland and sister of Judith Harris who married George Coleman. Hawes’ third wife was Nancy Overton, no issue. Nancy was the seventh daughter of Captain James Overton and Mary Waller.
