Woodrow Wilson Hylton, 61, of Rt 3, Bassett, died Sunday in Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County after a brief illness.
He was born October 21, 1921, in Henry County, the son of the late Willie Auston and Lucy Jane Soyars Hylton. He was employed by Schlueter Electric Co for the past 26 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Ruritan Club, Oak Level, Woodmen of the World, Farm Bureau, American Legion Post II, the Oak Level Baptist Church and attended Drapers Elementary School in Pittsylvania County.
He is survived by his wife, one son, two daughters, four sisters, four brothers, two half-brothers, five grandsons; and one step-granddaughter.
The funeral will be at 3 pm Tuesday at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev Grant Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
Memorial donations may be made to the Building fund at Oak Level Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 pm today.
