note on ABF: Abraham has been a very difficult critter to track. I still
haven't found him in the 1860 census; I don't think he was there.
Best guess is that he was either missed, in Mexico, or in Indian Territory. Given his proclivity for going between Texas and Arkansas, IT seems quite possible.
According to a letter his brother Peter Lee wrote, he was in
Texas, on the Mexican border, around 1857, and according to family
story, he was speculating in Mexican War bounty lands at the time. He may
have been in Mexico during the 1860 census.
In 1870, he is in Williamson County, Texas with second wife Janey and
son Abraham Lee Fine who was born 1858. In 1880, he's in Boone County,
Arkansas; in 1900 he's living with Abraham Lee Fine in Taney County, Missouri
after Janey's death.
