Thomas is believed to be a brother to the Daniel Purcell b. 1811 in Sullivan 
County, Tennessee, who married Harriet Gillenwaters, went to Hawkins County, 
and whose son Elijah eventually went to Kentucky; however, this is unproven, 
and Daniel's descendants can't find parents for him, either.  They may be sons
of John Purcell and Ursula Burke; evidence both ways exists.
