Emily Bertha DICKSON (Black)
1882 - 1962
An esteemed resident of Hanover for the past thirteen years, Mrs Samuel A. DICKSON, of 469 Twelfth Street, passed away at her home Wednesday, December 26, 1962, following a brief illness. She was in her 81st year.
Deceased was born December 11, 1882, a daughter Bertha, of the late John BLACK and Mary (CAIN) BLACK of Bentinck Township.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Mr William LATIMER, of Walkerton, where she resided for thirteen years. On January 19th, 1947, she was married in Hamilton to Mr Samuel DICKSON, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Elmer LATIMER of Hamilton; one step-son, Wallace DICKSON of Tregarva, Saskatchewan; one daughter, (Hazel) Mrs Melville PLETSCH of North Bay; three step-daughters, (Helen) Mrs Alan EDWARDS of Regina, Sask; (Eva) Mrs George HOWLAND of Adams, Sask; and (Hazel) Mrs Arnold OMOTH of Milestone, Sask: also ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two sisters; (Eva) Mrs John MCCONKEY of Teeswater and (Gertrude) Mrs Edmund NOBLE of Paisley. She was predeceased by one daughter, Eva, and five brothers and four sisters.
The late Mrs DICKSON was a member of the Trinity United Church.
The remains will rest at the Richardson Funeral Home, Hanover where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m on Saturday, with Rev. E.G. Cowan in charge.
Temperary interment will take place in Hanover Cemetery Chapel.
