Charles Edmund NOBLE

1879 - 1955

PAISLEY-Edward (Charles Edmund) NOBLE died at his home in Paisley on Wednesday December 14th after a lengthy illness. Mr. NOBLE, a highly esteemed resident of the district, was in his 77th year.

Born in Brant township, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. David NOBLE. He farmed for many years on the seventh concession of Elderslie, retiring nine years ago and moved to Paisley to live.

While living in Elderslie township he served on the school board. Mr. NOBLE was a member of the Anglican Church of the Ascension, Paisley; and a member of the L.O.L. lodge.

Besides his wife, the former Gertrude BLACK of Elmwood, there are also surviving one daughter, Muriel, Mrs. Keith MCINTYRE of Elderslie township; and four sons, Allan of New York city; James of Orillia; Jack of Teeswater; and Bernard of Toronto; one brother Harry NOBLE of Walkerton; and one sister, Mrs. W. HIBBARD of Walkerton.

Rev. Frank Tomlinson of the Anglican Church of the Ascension was in charge of the services.

The pallbearers were Harry NOBLE, Harvey BROCKLEBANK, Arthur WILKINSON, Ernest VANCE, Samuel DICKSON and Stanley PLUMMER.

Interment was in Paisley Cemetery.

Relatives from a distance attending the service were from New York, Toronto, Hamilton, Orillia, Hanover, Elmwood, Teeswater and Walkerton.
